Fantasy Football Picks: Week 9

Usually I am encouraging everyone to pick up certain players off of the waiver wire. To be honest, I’m not seeing any great pickups off of the waiver wire for week 9. Sometimes the best strategy to have is to just stick with your original game plan and not change your roster around. Let’s face it, there will be weeks where your stars just don’t produce for a variety of reasons but don’t panic and drop them (I continue to make this mistake). However, if you are in absolute need of a roster filler because multiple players are on byes or hurt then take a look at the following players:

1. WR Detroit-Titus Young: After a promising rookie season last year, expectations were high and he didn’t produce early in the season. In fact nobody in Detroit produced early on. Lately, Young has come on. He has posted 2 TD’s and closer to 200 yards receiving over the past two games with veteran WR Nate Burleson out due to injury.

2. RB Denver-Ronnie Hillman: This rookie went under the radar during most fantasy drafts which is why I drafted him and held on to him. Don’t expect him to breakout right away because he is still backing up Willis McGahee, but as the fantasy season heads into the playoffs he will get more playing time. Hillman finally got to showcase why speed kills last week running for 81 yards on only 14 carries off the bench. He is also a better pass catching RB than McGahee which is more compatible with the Peyton Manning offense in Denver.
